Six years ago, KSEM started with a simple idea: making orchestral composition in Ableton Live feel as natural and intuitive as possible. Today, KSEM is used by more than 1,000 musicians and composers worldwide, helping them work faster, stay organised and focus on what really matters – making music. Version 5 brings a completely rebuilt interface and a range of new workflow features inspired by years of feedback from the community. The redesigned Articulation Editor lets you create an unlimited number of articulations, use copy & paste, load selected articulations into the Articulation Pad and rearrange them freely by drag & drop – almost like puzzle pieces. KSEM 5 also adds keyboard shortcuts for Ableton Live 12, Attack Compensation for delayed samples, Note Transposition and Legato Overlap – helping you compensate for timing differences without having to manually adjust the original MIDI notes. A built-in pitch range reference covers more than 120 instruments, while reduced RAM usage helps large orchestral templates load faster. Cubase and Nuendo Expression Maps can now be imported directly into KSEM, allowing many existing articulation setups to be reused instantly. Over the years, KSEM has grown into a small ecosystem of its own, with 35 free presets currently available for popular orchestral libraries.
